Trump's comms director issues blistering take down of CNN guest

A heated exchange occurred when Donald Trump’s aggressive communications director criticized a CNN guest for discussing the president’s weight loss.

Steven Cheung launched a scathing attack on Daily Beast executive Joanna Coles, calling her a derogatory term and questioning her intelligence after she suggested that Trump might have used the weight-loss drug Ozempic while appearing on Inside Politics.

‘During her segment on Inside Politics, a Daily Beast representative named Joanna Coles made unfounded assertions about President Trump’s well-being,’ Cheung angrily expressed through an X statement on Sunday morning.

‘Joanna is a piece of s***, clearly suffering from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome rotting her pea-sized brain.’

Coles, 63, who is the Chief Creative and Content Officer at The Daily Beast, took aim at Trump, 78, while speculating about his controversial decision to break the dress code at the Pope’s funeral by wearing a blue suit instead of a black one.

‘I was so fascinated by the whole sort of playing out of the Pope’s funeral, I guess, as opposed to memorial,’ she said.

‘Donald Trump in a blue suit, when we know he has a black suit because he was wearing a black suit the last time you met the Pope, so why wasn’t he wearing it this time?

‘Lots of suspicion because he’s lost a lot of weight. Who knows how he’s lost weight? We know that Robert Kennedy Jr., his health minister, doesn’t approve of people taking Ozempic because he thinks it shows a lack of moral power.

‘So, who knows how Trump has lost weight? But I found the suit color very interesting. And for someone like me, who is a boss, is a huge believer in getting people together as opposed to doing things remotely.’

Cheung, 42, directly tagged British-born Coles in his X post, but she did not respond. DailyMail.com has contacted The Daily Beast for comment.

Cheung, who made his bones in communications at the Ultimate Fighting Championship, previously served in the White House during Trump’s first term as director of strategic response.

He was responsible for delivering tart responses to the press as communications director for the Trump campaign, which modelled the candidate in taking a sledgehammer to political rivals.

As in his initial run, Trump fed off intense media coverage, whether good or bad, even while publicly attacking the media as ‘fake news’ and calling it an ‘enemy of the people’ during his 2024 campaign rallies.

When controversies arose, Cheung delivered a series of responses during the campaign, as when he called Kamala Harris ‘despicable.’

That came just days before the election after Harris cited a report claiming Trump had said something admiring about Hitler.

Cheung shot back with a statement calling her a ‘stone-cold loser who is increasingly desperate because she is flailing, and her campaign is in shambles.’

‘That is why she continues to peddle outright lies and falsehoods that are easily disproven.

‘The fact is that Kamala’s dangerous rhetoric is directly to blame for the multiple assassination attempts against President Trump and she continues to stoke the flames of violence all in the name of politics.

‘She is despicable and her grotesque behavior proves she is wholly unfit for office.’

When news broke that Iran had hacked his campaign, Cheung issued a statement blaming Harris.

‘This is the continuation of election interference by Kamala Harris and Democrats who will stop at nothing, including emboldening China and Iran attacking critical American infrastructure, to prevent President Trump from returning to the White House,’ he said.

Often his comments channeled his boss, as when Judge Tanya Chutkan issued an order in his January 6 case.

‘Radical Democrats are hell-bent on interfering in the presidential election on behalf of Lyin’ Kamala Harris.

‘With just over two weeks until Election Day, President Trump is dominating this race and Crazed Liberals throughout the Deep State are freaking out,’ he said.

He called the case ‘a sham and a partisan, Unconstitutional Witch Hunt that should be dismissed entirely—as should ALL of the remaining Democrat hoaxes.’
