Damian Lillard exits Bucks game with serious injury amid torn Achilles fears

Trail Blazers’ player Damian Lillard exited the fourth game against the Pacers on Sunday during the initial quarter due to a leg injury. There are worries that the injury he sustained might be significant.

Lillard had ruled out for the remainder of the game with a lower leg injury to his left leg and NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that there is a “fear” that he suffered a left Achilles tear.

The injury occurred when Lillard was helping to secure his team a rebound in the first quarter when he swatted the ball away from a Pacers player to keep the possession for Milwaukee, but when he hit the ground, he immediately grabbed his left leg.

He stayed on the ground until the play finally came to a halt, and a teammate ran over to help him up.

Lillard could not put any pressure on his left leg as he was being helped off the court to the Bucks locker room.

Lillard had played six minutes when he came off the court and had recorded two assists and two rebounds.

The tough circumstances for Lillard were the first thing discussed on “Inside the NBA” at halftime with a somber panel coming out of a break talking about it.

“He’s a great player and a really good dude. You can just tell right away when he grabbed right for that Achilles,” Charles Barkley said.

The injury comes after Lillard had just recently returned to the court after he had missed the Bucks’ final 14 games of the regular season after he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and needed to be placed on blood thinners.

He returned for Game 2 of the series in a recovery that ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported as one that had “never been seen before” by doctors.
