Jury finds man guilty of child rape at Limestone church

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man convicted of second-degree murder in the death of a 23-year-old Johnson City man was sentenced to 33 years in prison on April 17.

According to the office of First Judicial District Attorney General Steven Finney, a Washington County Criminal Court heard proof and arguments related to the sentencing of Christopher Brian Jones.

Ultimately, the court sentenced Jones to serve 33 years in prison, with the total sentence consisting of 20 years to serve at 100%, 10 years to serve at 30% and three additional years to serve at 100%.

On Jan. 16, a jury found Jones guilty of second-degree murder relating to the fentanyl overdose of Isaiah Beatty.

Jones was arrested on Nov. 4, 2021, after a search warrant at his Jonesborough home. Police reportedly found fentanyl, methamphetamine, fake pressed Xanax pills, propofol, drug paraphernalia and several guns.
