Authorities seeking abduction suspect who ran from police in Abingdon

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office is warning the public to be on the lookout for a man wanted for abduction.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, authorities are actively searching for Dakota Manuel Reynolds, who is wanted in both Washington County, Va. and Smyth County.

Reynolds allegedly ran from deputies after they attempted a traffic stop around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The sheriff’s office stated he fled from the vehicle in the area of Westwood Dr./Exit 14 in Abingdon.

As of 8:30 a.m., Reynolds had not been found and is considered at large.

He is charged with the following:

  • Abduction
  • Felony Eluding
  • Probation Violation

Reynolds has a beard and tattoos. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.

Anyone who sees Reynolds is warned not to approach him and to call authorities immediately. The sheriff’s office can be reached by calling 276-676-6000 or by calling 911.
