During a one-on-one interview marking his first 100 days back in the White House, President Trump engaged in a heated discussion with ABC News anchor Terry Moran regarding his contentious tariffs. Moran challenged Trump on the 145% tariffs imposed on China, expressing concerns that it would lead to increased prices across the board. However, Trump maintained his stance and reassured that “everything’s going to be just fine.”
Trump, 78, and Moran debated the impacts of the tariffs, with the president disagreeing with Moran’s assertion that the levies would result in higher prices for consumers. The exchange shed light on the diverging perspectives on the implications of such economic measures.

“You don’t know that, you don’t know whether or not China’s going to eat it,” Trump interjected at one point in the interview.
“That’s mathematics,” Moran shot back.
“China probably will eat those tariffs,” Trump insisted.
“But at 145%, they basically can’t do much business with the United States,” the president continued.
“And, they were making from us a trillion dollars a year, they were ripping us off like nobody’s ever ripped us off.”
“Everything’s going to be just fine. It wouldn’t have been if I didn’t do this.”
