DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A Cowarts man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say he was walking around downtown Dothan with a fake RPG.

Dothan police were called to the 200 block of East Main Street on Tuesday after several people called and reported a man was carrying around a “rocket-propelled grenade launcher.”

Photos show a man carrying the RPG around downtown Dothan.

According to Dothan Police, 26-year-old Keyun Hill, was found with the RPG, which was a replica.

Hill was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a hoax destructive device. Hill was booked into the Dothan City Jail, and police said the hoax RPG was seized and placed into evidence.

Dothan Police said Hill has described himself as a “social media prankster” and was in the process of filming a video.

“Entertainment takes many forms, however, behavior such as this that alarms numerous people and can cause panic in a public space cannot be tolerated,” Dothan Police stated. “We urge social media content creators to use common sense when practicing their craft.”
