Since bursting onto the Hollywood scene more than three decades ago, Brad Pitt has had oodles of high-profile romances. Among the famous women he’s wooed? Juliette Lewis, Gwyneth Paltrow and, of course, his two ex-wives: Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. But for nearly three years now, the actor’s quietly been dating jewelry designer Ines de Ramon. According to an exclusive In Touch insider, their low-key relationship has left Brad feeling happier and more grounded than ever — however, the Wolfs star might lose it all if he keeps avoiding taking the next step.

“When marriage comes up, Brad changes the subject, or he’ll make jokes about his bad track record,” the insider exclusively tells In Touch. “It’s clear he’s been seriously scarred by his divorce from Angelina and is gun shy about getting married again.”

Considering how Brad, 61, and Angie, 49, are still fighting over shared property roughly nine years after the actress filed for divorce, that’s not surprising. Ines doesn’t want to be punished for others’ mistakes, though.

“She’s still young and even though she’s been divorced, she’s not jaded when it comes to marriage; she wants to be Mrs. Brad Pitt,” shares the insider, noting the thirtysomething was previously hitched to actor Paul Wesley, 42. “If Brad keeps putting it off, it’s hard to imagine she won’t get fed up and leave him. Ines isn’t going to stick around forever without that commitment.”

Ines isn’t the only one who would like Brad to put a ring on it. “His friends are all telling him to stop dragging his feet, too,” says the insider, noting that close pal George Clooney and his wife Amal are pushing the hardest. “They love Ines and think Brad is a fool for making her wait.”

People in his inner circle just don’t understand why Brad is so resistant when it’s clear the duo — who have been living together for more than a year — are very much in love, dishes the insider: “It would be different if Brad were unsure about her, but he’s told everyone he wants to spend his life with Ines. He doesn’t have an ounce of doubt. Before she came into the picture, he wasn’t in a great place; Ines brought this lightness back into his life.”

Alas, that light might go out if Brad keeps letting his past influence their future. “No one wants to see him mess this up and end up alone,” says the insider. “Ines makes him happy, and if he’s smart, he’ll choose happiness and hurry up and marry her before he misses the chance.”
