The stars of Next Gen NYC are gearing up for the upcoming premiere of the show’s first season. Gia Giudice recently took to her podcast with Dolores Catania to discuss how Riley Burruss reacted to The Real Housewives of Atlanta being compared to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. The internet has mixed opinions about this, and many are criticizing Gia for her comments.

Next Gen NYC will begin airing on Bravo on June 3. As mentioned, it stars Gia, 24, Riley, 22,  and several other children of Bravo stars and other famous media personalities, who are often referred to as “nepo babies.”

Recently, Gia had Dolores on her Casual Chaos podcast. Much of their conversation has made the rounds online, and a part that’s drawing some controversy is what Gia and Dolores, 54, had to say about Riley.

“Riley, Kandi’s daughter, I actually said to her once, ‘I feel like Atlanta and Jersey give the same energy.’ She got really offended by that,” said Gia, via a clip shared by The Gworls Are Fighting on X.

Dolores then asked why, and Gia said she didn’t know. She continued, “She like looked at me and said, ‘No. They’re very different.’ I said, ‘Okay.’”

Dolores chimed in, saying, “Doesn’t look like that to me.” Gia went on, “I was very surprised, but she got very offended when I said that.” Dolores then said, “That’s not nice.”

Gia claimed this was her way of trying to bond with Riley since both their mothers “are on Housewives, were on Housewives.” Ultimately, Dolores offered Gia some advice. She said, “Well, right off the bat, then you know that that’s the pace of the relationship that you’ll have with that person.”

Many viewers had opinions on what Gia and Dolores said. One of the first came from none other than Bingeworthy, who is a content creator who posts about Housewives shows. He said, “Never liked Delores… she has a lot more she wants to say but… yeah.”

Someone else explained how the two shows are different, commenting, “#giagiudice see how you in grown folks business. #RHOA kids don’t do that. Both are legendary, but not the same. #RHOA used to be more pointless drama. Yall really got families hating each other. How are they the same #rileyburruss wouldn’t speak about you on a podcast.”

Another person said, “Well.. they are very different.” Still, Gia did have some support in the comments. One fan replied, “Gia didn’t say she compared their mothers to one another, she said she compared their shows to one another. Riley gave an unnecessarily nice-nasty retort. She is Mama Joyce’s grandchild, that’s for sure.”

Fans can listen to Gia’s Casual Chaos podcast on all platforms.
