CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Here’s a new one: What happens when you have 200 extra cases of hot dogs? Well for Kraft-Heinz in Champaign, it was a dilemma they faced on Wednesday.
The facility ordered too many hot dogs for an upcoming employee cook out. So, they decided to spread the love and give the extra beef to 43 different organizations throughout Champaign County. This includes schools, churches, food banks, shelters, youth groups and more.
“This is an opportunity to give back and help these organizations that do so much good within our communities,” said Sarah Organ, Site Director at Kraft Heinz. “We couldn’t be prouder to have the opportunity to share some of our great products. Like I said, going into the nicer weather, a hot dog is nice to have, and so we’re just really excited to be able to do it.”
