A jury returned a not guilty verdict for the man accused of Gray’s murder, as well as two counts of attempted murder.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man accused of shooting and killing a Jacksonville man in 2019 has been found not guilty of all charges related to the victim’s death, according to court records obtained by First Coast News Friday.

Izhan Scott, who was 18 at the time, was found not guilty of all charges related to the death of Trevor Gray.

The jury delivered the verdict Thursday, according to court records.

Scott was charged with one count of second degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree murder, and one count of shooting or throwing deadly missiles.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested Scott in January 2019, saying he shot and killed Gray after an altercation at a Circle K in the 3600 block of St. Johns Bluff Road South.

Gray was accompanied by two other people at the time. JSO said one of them got into an altercation with a man in the parking lot. After, Gray and the two others went back to their vehicle and drove away.

The man got inside his vehicle and followed the three to an intersection of St. Johns Bluff Road and Bahia Drive where he opened fire and hit Gray, police said.

Officers were called at 9 p.m. to Atlantic Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road where they discovered Gray suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Fifteen-year-old Charles Lyodschuoz Jr., Trevor Gray’s cousin, was in the car when Trevor Gray was shot.

“A car pulled up behind us and started shooting,” he said.

“Nobody thinks they’re going to bury their kid,” Gray’s mom, Tina Gray said at the time. “Trevor wasn’t even involved. He pumped his gas, jumped back in the car, and drove off.”

Police arrested Scott two days after the shooting. Trevor Gray’s family said the two have known each other since middle school.
