WESTVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — It’s been another strong season so far for Westville softball.

The Tigers have already secured a fourth-straight 20+ win season, entering Friday on an 11-game win streak.

It’s head coach Brandon Zaayer’s first season coaching the Tigers.

He wants players to learn from any mistakes they make, but he holds himself to that same standard.

“I’m always learning, just as they are,” Zaayer said. “I’m not going to say I’m perfect by any means. I’m still a person. I’m going to make mistakes, and I own those mistakes. I’m adapting my talent as much as they are.”

“I feel like he’s really learned how we work,” senior Madison Jones said. “He’s really great with us and he knows how to keep us going and into the game.”

“We have honestly really good chemistry and I think that’s super great and very helpful for all of us. We get along super well, especially on and off the field,” senior Lani Gondzur said.

Westville dropped its first VVC game of the season on Friday against Salt Fork, 4-3.
