Vance slams AOC 2028 talk as ‘the stuff of nightmares,’ argues Trump is the leader of the Democratic Party

According to Vice President JD Vance, President Trump is considered the head of the Democratic Party. He also mentioned that the idea of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez becoming the President is frightening.

“President AOC, the stuff of nightmares,” the vice president told Fox News “Special Report” host Bret Baier, when asked about the possibility of a Vance versus Ocasio-Cortez matchup in the 2028 presidential election.

“You’ve ruined my sleep for the evening,” Vance, 40, added, trying to get the idea of the far-left “Squad” congresswoman being the leader of the free world out of his head.

In recent weeks, Ocasio-Cortez has barnstormed the country, slamming Trump and Republicans, with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as part of their  “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.

The tour and recent social media posts from the Bronx Democrat have fueled speculation that she has an eye on a higher office, perhaps even the White House.

Some have pointed to Ocasio-Cortez as the closest thing to a leader the Democratic Party has had during Trump’s second term in office.

Vance, however, argued that it is actually Trump who is directing the party.

“I think to the extent the Democrats have a leader, Donald J. Trump is the leader Democratic Party,” the vice president told Baier. “Because they’re just against everything that he does.”

“Any time Donald Trump does anything, [Democrats] have this emotional response — they have to be against it.”

“They don’t have real leadership,” Vance argued.

The lack of leadership or novel ideas from the Democratic Party is why Vance isn’t sweating 2028.

“I think that’s why I’m not too concerned about 2028, because if I wake up in a fantasy world where the Democrats actually have constructive ideas about how to govern this country, that’ll actually be a good thing,  but in the world that we actually live in, where they’re just anti-Trump about everything, the politics of 2028 will take care of themselves,” he explained.
