The use of weight loss medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro has been on the rise for the last few years. Recently, Sophia Umansky, who has been featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Buying Beverly Hills, came out and admitted that she has begun to experience hair loss after taking the latter of the two medications.

As fans know, Sophia, 25, is the daughter of Kyle Richards, 56, and Mauricio Umansky, 54. Not only has she been featured on both shows, but she is also a real estate agent.

Recently, she took to TikTok to share her story of experiencing side effects from Mounjaro. She said, “I am very lucky to have so much hair because, at the rate that I’ve been losing hair, I’m gonna be bald in about a week.”

Sophia continued, “I started Mounjaro about four months ago, and I would say maybe, like, for the past three weeks to a month, I’ve noticed a dramatic hair loss situation.”

From there, Sophia showed a video of all the hair that’s left in the drain after brushing and showering. Additionally, she showed that there’s hair on the walls of the shower, demonstrating the extreme nature of her loss.

She went on, “I don’t think it’s a direct result of the medication. I think it’s a direct result of rapid weight loss because of the medication and not eating enough vitamins, proteins, all that kind of stuff.”

She then said, “I feel like that that in the beginning of starting this medication, I was just making sure I was eating enough. I wasn’t really thinking about like enough protein, enough vitamins, and all that kind of stuff. So, I think because of that, I have started losing hair. I’ve really been putting an effort into eating more protein, taking more vitamins, and all that kind of stuff.”

Then, Sophia said she’s trying out new products to slow down and stop the hair loss she’s been experiencing. This includes a new shampoo and conditioner that is specifically for fixing thinning hair. She’s also starting to use hair nutrition peptides to aid in her hair regrowth journey. Someone else also recommended a certain brand of collagen for her hair. She also showed a brand of vitamins that’s supposed to be good for people taking these weight loss drugs.

In the end, Sophia said she plans to update her followers on her hair regrowth and that she’s happy to answer questions about being on Mounjaro for anyone considering taking it.
