Mackenzie (Standifer) and Ryan Edwards on Teen Mom

Reality TV News

Ryan Edwards is ready to be divorced so he can move on, but he wants his share of the marital property before the split is finalized.

Ryan Edwards is motivated to finally put an end to his marriage to Mackenzie Standifer and finalize their divorce. More than two years after the separation, she is looking for the same. Still, Edwards isn’t willing to walk away from the union with nothing. The Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star is expected in court again soon. He’s submitted a request to split marital property ahead of his next face-off. Edwards is looking to recoup equity in the house he once shared with Standifer during their marriage. It is the same house he allegedly destroyed in a drug-induced rage.

Ryan Edwards is requesting marital assets in his divorce

Ryan Edwards has submitted paperwork to a Tennessee court seeking to divide marital assets. Content creator Elle Bee obtained a copy of the filing that shows what Edwards is seeking and what he believes his ex-wife deserves in the split.

According to the documents, Edwards wants to recoup equity in the house he once shared with Standifer. He is seeking over $80,000 in home equity. Edwards also wants ownership of or the fair market value of a truck, motorcycle, tools, and a sports car, all purchased during the marriage. He believes Standifer is entitled to a JetSki, a Jeep, and $80,000 in equity in the home. A judge hasn’t commented on the filing. Standifer hasn’t commented, either.

Teen Mom fans have sounded off on social media after the filing was made public. Several fans have questioned how Edwards could be entitled to equity in the home when he made it unhabitable for nearly two years.

Bodycam footage showed the home moments after Ryan Edwards destroyed it

In early 2023, Mackenzie Edwards filed for divorce, citing abuse and seeking custody of their two children, Jagger and Stella. She was granted an order of protection, as well. Shortly after, Ryan was arrested for violating a protective order and vandalizing the home he shared with Standifer and their two children. Bodycam footage revealed extensive damage, including scrawled threats, destroyed appliances, and fecal matter on the floor. Mackenzie reported that Ryan became “crazy and violent” after she expressed her plans to file for divorce. She and the two children were not home when the incident occurred.

While Edwards was remanded to a court-ordered rehab following the incident, Standifer moved forward with restoring the property. She documented the process on social media, claiming homeowners’ insurance did not cover the cost of repairs. Edwards’ involvement or lack thereof in the repair process remains unknown.

While Mackenzie did not delve into the insurance issue deeply, it makes sense that the insurance company might refuse to pay for the repairs. While homeowners’ insurance coverage is excellent in case of a fire or other major incident, most policies do not cover damages caused by the policyholder. According to Zebra, most policies have standard language that releases the company from liability for “intentional” damage by a policyholder. Because Edwards’ actions caused the damages, the company would be legally within its rights to refuse any claim associated with the incident.

Standifer and her three children finished repairs in November 2024. They had been displaced during the restoration. Upon release from a sober living facility in 2023, Edwards moved into a home with his now-fiancée, Amanda Conner. Standifer alleges Edwards had not paid child support for the entirety of their separation. She is seeking retroactive child support for their two children they share. Mackenzie also has a song from a previous relationship. Edwards has two additional children: a teenage son with Maci Bookout and an infant daughter with his current partner.
