Night two of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour at SoFi Stadium was packed with unforgettable moments, but it was 7-year-old Rumi Carter who truly stole the spotlight.

Rumi joined her mom and big sister, 13-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, Thursday night, in her second-ever onstage appearance.

While Blue showcased her dancing skills on high-energy tracks like “America Has a Problem” and “Deja Vu,” it was Rumi’s performance during the ballad “Protector” that truly stood out.

As Beyoncé sang the sweet ballad, Rumi looked completely at ease, smiling and waving to the crowd without a hint of stage fright.

The night took on even more significance when Beyoncé paused the show to bring out her mother, Tina Knowles, in celebration of her memoir Matriarch, which had just hit No. 1 on The New York Times bestseller list.

“Today is a big day, because my mother, who worked so hard on her book—she has the No. 1 book on The New York Times’ list. Everybody please say, ‘Congratulations mama T,’” Beyoncé said.

As the audience erupted in cheers, the three generations of Knowles-Carter women stood proudly together, with Rumi jumping for joy.

In an adorable moment, little Miss Carter reached for the microphone, though she didn’t quite get the chance to speak into it. Her voice, however, was caught as she said, “Y’all made me so happy.”

Born on June 13, 2017, alongside her twin brother Sir, Rumi has slowly been stepping into the limelight.

Her official music debut came with the release of Cowboy Carter in March 2024, when she opened the song “Protector” by asking, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby please?”

That moment helped her earn the title of youngest female artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 as of April 2024.

With only two shows in, Rumi is already making a name for herself as one of the Cowboy Carter Tour’s rising stars.
