‘Sopranos’ star Joe Pantoliano ‘uncomfortable’ in US, ‘looking into’ Portugal move: ‘I just want to run for the hills’

“Sopranos” alum Joe Pantoliano is the latest celebrity contemplating a move abroad after President Trump’s election.

“I’m so uncomfortable with the nature of what’s happening in our country, and I just want to run for the hills,” he exclusively told Page Six at the “Tucci in Italy” premiere earlier this week.

The 73-year-old, who has over 150 different acting credits, added that he’s finding it difficult to focus on his job while watching the news coming out of the current administration.

“It’s hard for me to think about people’s bulls–t like making a TV show,” he explained. “The world is on fire, it’s hard for me to concentrate.”

Pantoliano shared that he and his wife, Nancy Sheppard, had recently returned from Portugal and they are contemplating a move there.

“We just got back,” he said. “We really love it there,” though he expressed concern about the 18-hour power blackout that hit Spain and Portugal last month.

“They just got hit with a cyber attack,” he opined, “and I think that’s just a rehearsal for what will happen here.”

“The Matrix” star stressed that’s why “I keep a lot of cash at home, not a lot but enough to get me going for a couple of weeks,” cautioning any would-be robbers that “it’s buried and there’s no map!”

If Pantoliano does move to Europe, he’ll join a growing list of celebs who have also departed following the election.

“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria told Marie Claire that she was “done” with life in “dystopian” America.

She and husband José Bastón, along with their son, Santiago, 6, split their time between homes in Central America and Europe.

Longoria added that she believes America will become a “scary place” if the president “keeps his promises.”

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have been living in the British countryside since the end of 2024.

While the couple purchased their UK home ahead of last year’s election, their decision to “get the hell out” of America was reportedly cemented by Trump’s victory.

Rosie O’Donnell made the decision to move to Ireland days after the election results, when she was accosted at a grocery store while she was with her youngest child, Clay, who uses they/them pronouns.

“I feel healthier [and] I’m sleeping better without the stress and anxiety over what was happening politically in the country,” the comedian, 63, shared on a TikTok in March.

“The View” alum added that Clay is “doing so well here. It’s not easy to move to another country and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do.”
