Now with the reality TV show in its second season, tensions are high between the estranged spouses as Jax decides to seek professional help for his mental health following a blow-up fight with Brittany.

In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Brittany shared a few updates on where things currently stand between her and Jax. Throughout her entire interview, it was pretty clear that the exes were not in a good place. Still, with Jax having recently admitted to getting sober after struggling with addiction, and completing his 30-day stay in rehab last summer, would Brittany ever consider getting back with him?

Brittany Cartwright stars alongside her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, in The Valley. The show follows a group of friends who have moved on from their partying lifestyles to focus on their careers, marriages, and parenting while living in California’s San Fernando Valley.

Season 2 of The Valley premiered on April 15th and picks up in the aftermath of Brittany and Jax’s separation. Even before the season aired, the former couple had been all over tabloid headlines for their tumultuous split. Brittany announced their separation in February 2024, and since then, their relationship has been nothing but tense as they try and co-parent their young son, Cruz.

After Episode 3 of The Valley aired, Brittany joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live where she gave fans more insight into where she and Jax stand today, including if she would ever reconcile with him.

When playing a game with Andy, Brittany was asked if she could ever see herself back with Jax, to which she shook her head and said, “No.” She added, “100 percent, no.” Andy then brought up a time that it seemed like the two were trying to work on their marriage after he exited rehab after a 30-day stay last summer. “I had weak moments for sure. I was with him for 10 yaers, and obviously I loved him, and want nothing but the best for him, but he has damaged our relationship far too much to come back.”

Unfortunately, their relationship today hasn’t changed much, either. When asked about the “current nature” of her relationship with Jax, Brittany revealed, “Still not great. I really hope that he is sober. I can’t say 100 percent that I think that he is or not, but his personality is still very much a Jax Taylor personality. It’s a lot of ups and downs.”

In Season 2, Episode 3, fans see Jax entering an inpatient facility for his mental health following a nasty fight with Brittany. In March, he admitted that he had struggled with an addiction to cocaine “on and off since I was 23.” The reality star shared that he was over 80 days sober at the time.

Brittany Explained Why She Wouldn’t Move Back To Kentucky Now That She Is No Longer With Jax

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Brittany was asked if she would ever consider moving out of Los Angeles and back to her hometown in Kentucky now that she’s no longer married to Jax. It was a thoughtful question, especially since Brittany has a deep love for where she came from and most of her family still lives there.

“In LA there’s just a lot going on and I need to be able to support my son and I feel like LA’s the best place for that right now. There’s so many more opportunities there and a lot that I can do,” she shared.

Additionally, Brittany shared that she’s found amazing specialists in L.A. for her son, Cruz, who she recently revealed has been diagnosed with autism. “I’ve already got Cruz set up in all the therapies and everything that he has and his support group is so incredible,” she said. “They love him so much. They care about everything about his life just as much as I do, and I don’t really want to change up what’s happening at this moment.”

“But I love Kentucky, I love visiting home. I’m a Kentucky girl always, through and through,” she added.

In 2017, Brittany and Jax were given their own spinoff titled, Vanderpump Rules Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky. Only lasting one season, the show followed the couple living and working on Brittany’s family farm.

Brittany Will “Never Forgive” Jax For Not Giving Their Home To Her And Their Son After Their Separation

After Brittany announced her separation from Jax in February 2024, fans learned that she had moved out of their home in the Valley and was living in multiple rental homes for many months. On her When Reality Hits podcast she shared that she was leaving to “take some space for the sake of [her] mental health.”

In an April interview with People, Brittany opened up more about her decision to move out. She revealed that Jax refused to give her the house, leaving her looking for homes and living in different rental spaces with their young son, with whom she has primary custody of. It’s something she told the outlet that she would “never forgive” Jax for.

“I’ll never forgive him for doing that to us. When you’re dealing with a child with autism, we shouldn’t be the ones moving around. That should have never happened. But that’s just how Jax is,” she said.

“Jax would not leave for seven months, while I had to move to different rental houses. I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it. No matter what.”

“I didn’t know if I was going to get a chance to come back here,” she said. “I went looking for houses, and I did all these different things. But I wanted to be here. I feel like I made this house a home. Cruz was born here. This is his house. He’s got his pool outside; he’s got his swing set. He’s got his playroom. He’s got everything here.”

Brittany added that Jax finally made the decision to move out and bought himself a condo. However, she believes he only did it because filming for Season 2 of The Valley was about to begin, and he didn’t want to come off looking like the bad guy.

“He realized, ‘Oh God, everybody’s going to see that I made her move out of the house.’ That’s probably the only reason he finally moved out, I’m not even going to lie,” Brittany said.

Brittany and Cruz are now happily living in the house which is shown in Season 2 of The Valley.

New episodes of The Valley Season 2 air on Bravo every Tuesday at 9 PM ET. New episodes are also available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
