LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — A police pursuit in Loudon County Saturday morning ended when a vehicle crashed into a Lenoir City radio station.

Around 9:30 a.m., the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office said a patrol officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the Martel area of Lenoir City, but the driver refused to stop. The officer then followed the vehicle as it turned onto Highway 11 and then down Broadway toward the Justice Center.

According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle took a left turn onto South Grand Street at a high rate of speed and crashed into a radio station as well as a parked vehicle. The radio station, La Lider 93.5 FM, posted about the crash on social media, saying that there was at least one employee in the building at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.

Photos from the scene show a large hole in the first floor of the building.

LCSO said the driver was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including felony evading arrest and driving under the influence.
