Director Spike Lee‘s latest project has come to light, and fans are already buzzing over its nearly minute-long teaser trailer.
In the upcoming movie named Highest 2 Lowest, Denzel Washington plays the role of a music mogul facing a serious moral dilemma when he becomes the target of a ransom scheme, as stated on the Apple TV+ press website.
Alan Fox is the writer behind Highest 2 Lowest, a modern-day adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller High and Low</em, which is set in present-day New York City. This movie marks the fifth collaboration between Lee and Washington, following Mo’ Better Blues (1990), Malcolm X (1992), He Got Game (1998), and Inside Man (2006).

The film also features Ice Spice in her first feature film, Dean Winters, and John Douglas Thompson, per Variety.
When is the Highest 2 Lowest release date?
Highest 2 Lowest will hit theaters on Aug. 22, and will make its way over to streaming on Apple TV+ on Sept. 5, per The Hollywood Reporter. According to the outlet, the film is set to make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19.
