Michelle Saniei on Why She Wasn’t Allowed to Film With Daughter During The Valley Season 2, Says Jesse “Pretends” and People Don’t Know “What Happened Behind Closed Doors,” Plus Talks Moving In With Boyfriend

Michelle Saniei revealed why she wasn’t allowed to film with her daughter Isabella during season two of The Valley. The 38-year-old also addressed her divorce, and she claimed her ex, Jesse Lally, “pretend[s] to be a certain way,” and people don’t know “what happened [behind] closed doors.”

Last season on the show, Michelle and Jesse were still living together with their daughter. But as the season progressed, cracks in their relationship became visible as Michelle hinted she wanted to leave. By the end of the season, Michelle moved out and filed for divorce. She’s now in a relationship with financial advisor Aaron Nosler.

On the May 5 episode of her Pursuit of Sassiness podcast, Michelle revealed that she wasn’t allowed to film with her daughter.

“I had an apartment, and I didn’t realize that I wasn’t allowed to film [there]. So you don’t really get to see the dynamic of me as a mother, and I have Isabella 50 percent of the time,” she said, via @vanderpodrecaps on Instagram. “So that entire second season, I was not allowed to film with her. So that’s why you get to see a lot of Jesse and Isabella filming at his home, but you don’t get to see us, unfortunately.”

Though she and Isabella lived in the apartment alone, Michelle recently moved in with Aaron.

“We just moved in together,” she said. “I wanted to live on my own for a year, and so I did, and it was just, Aaron lives nearby as well, and it just made sense, and we have a very strong relationship. And actually, Isabella wanted to move in, so it was just like a group decision, and therefore, I moved in about two months ago.”

As for her divorce, Michelle said it’s nice to have Brittany Cartwright, who’s now divorcing her own husband, as a friend who understands.

“That’s what I love about Brittany. It’s like sometimes I don’t have to explain a situation. She already knows and she gets it,” Michelle explained. “All I have to say is a sentence and she [understands]. And so, of course, like there is another layer of bond between us because we are going through something very difficult. I’m not trying to compare whatsoever.”

“What I was trying to say is that Jesse is very out there, and he does pretend to be a certain way,” she added. “So it’s hard for people to really, truly know who he is and what happened [behind] closed doors.”

New episodes of The Valley air on Tuesday nights on Bravo.
