GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two people were arrested after allegedly stealing around $4,000 of merchandise from Bath & Body Works in Greeneville.

According to arrest reports from the Greeneville Police Department (GPD), an officer responded to an alleged shoplifting at Bath & Body Works (1357 Tusculum Boulevard) on Feb. 8.

A store manager reportedly told police that five women came into the store, put various items in baskets and their clothes and left without paying.

A couple of the women then came back into the store and started loading more items into baskets, the GPD stated. The women reportedly left in a white Hyundai with an approximate $2,900 worth of items.

The police department noted that the store manager said it’s against policy to confront people when they are stealing.

On Feb. 25, a GPD officer responded to another alleged shoplifting at the Bath & Body Works located on Tusculum Boulevard.

An employee told the officer that a theft had happened the day before, and it was believed to be the five women from the Feb. 8 incident, the GPD reported.

During the alleged theft, the women took 52 items valued at $1,393.

The GPD identified the following suspects connected to the two alleged thefts:

  • Tamysja M. Payne, of Knoxville
  • Laquazja Brown, of Knoxville
  • Mauricesgria Goins
  • Dajeonna Hill

Brown was arrested in Knoxville and transferred to the custody of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on April 11.

On April 28, Payne was arrested and charged with shoplifting/theft of property, according to the police department.

The GPD reported that arrest warrants have been filed for Goins and Hill.
