Transport company and major toll road operator Transurban has announced it will cut hundreds of jobs in a bid to “streamline” operations.

“Transurban aims to be a leader in helping people move more easily and safely around major cities,” CEO Michelle Jablko said.

“To do this, we must be a more agile and efficient organisation and re-allocate our capital and resources in ways that best serve our stakeholders.”

Toll road operator Transurban will slash hundreds of jobs.

Jablko said that “regrettably” it would involve cutting 300 jobs.

The decision follows a workforce review brought about by changes to the company’s operating model in May 2024.

“Our immediate priority will be to manage this process as quickly and as sensitively as possible and provide support to those impacted by this decision,” Jablko said.

Transurban estimated the cuts would save more than $50 million, some of which would be re-allocated into “growth opportunities” within the company, including improving customer experience.
