RHONY's Bethenny Frankel Discusses Daughter Bryn's Desperate Plea to Move to Florida After "Something Happened," Says "She Cried to Me"

Bethenny Frankel revealed how her daughter, Bryn Casey Hoppy, influenced her decision to sell her Greenwich, Connecticut, home and move to Florida on Tuesday’s episode of her podcast.

Days after confirming the move on TikTok, the 54-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum detailed a recent conversation she had with the 14-year-old, whom she shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, and admitted she had grown overwhelmed with the $2.1 million mansion.

“We were down in Florida and something very personal transpired,” Bethenny explained on the May 6 episode of Just B, via Page Six. “I don’t want to get into all the details of this now, but something happened, and my daughter, who had said years ago, ‘I want to move to Florida,’ she cried to me.”

Looking back at their past conversation about a potential move, Bethenny said she had told her daughter they couldn’t move south because of “a set of circumstances,” and she noted that Brynn had “great friends and a great life” where they were.

“At that time, it was just a concept, and I couldn’t have imagined living in Florida,” Bethenny admitted. “So, she said, ‘I want to move to Florida this trip,’ and I was, like, ‘Something had happened.’”

“She begged me. She didn’t have to beg me, like, she was like, ‘I really want this’ … I know my kid and I knew that once this was presented … that she’d want to move. I was just like, ‘F*ckng f*ck it, OK,’” she continued.

According to Bethenny, she was previously planning to move to Florida once Bryn began college. However, after her and Bryn’s discussion earlier this year, she reconsidered, stating that she was “drowning” in her Greenwich property.

“I have been a frazzled, manic mess,” she shared. “This f*cking house is gonna kill me. It’s the best house. It’s an amazing, extraordinary house for a family that has kids that will come home, you have a staff [and] there’s an apple orchard … It was a massive property, and I made the decision to buy that property when I was in a different stage of my life.”

While Bethenny purchased the Greenwich mansion with plans to entertain frequently, she ultimately found it to be “lonely.”

“Within five weeks, [we] had sold and bought a home in both places,” Bethenny said. “We’ll keep this apartment [in New York City], but I sold my home and bought a house in Florida.”

“[I’m] excited for this next chapter,” she added.
