The Little Mermaid star originally posted a video on Snapchat, and then, reshared it on TikTok, talking about still feeling “really insecure” about her body after welcoming her son Halo back in January 2024.

“Right now, currently I am a little bit thicker than I usually am and I feel really insecure about it, a little bit,” the 25-year-old said. “Because all my life, I’ve been like 120 lbs, really skinny. And then I had my baby and then when I was breastfeeding, I lost a bunch of weight.”

“So I felt like my body sort of snapped back to where I thought it did, at the time, but it still was very off,” she continued. “And now that I’m 25, I just feel myself like, ‘Oh. Weight is sticking more.’ Like, ok.”

The new mom shared in her video that she’s currently enjoying a well-deserved vacation. She also revealed that her busy schedule has made it difficult to prioritize regular workouts.

“This is my first time I’m taking a break. I was filming every day and being a mom to Halo every day. I didn’t have time anywhere between being on set and being with Halo to workout,” she explained in the video. “So I’m a little fluffy right now because I kind of fell off of my consistent workouts.”

Bailey went on to share that after filming a video with her sister, Chloe, she felt unexpectedly self-conscious about her appearance. The actress admitted the comments about her body affected her so much that she ultimately asked Chloe to remove the post.

Mothers should give themselves grace when it comes to their postpartum bodies and weight gain. Pregnancy and childbirth bring significant changes, and healing takes time. The “snap back” for some isn’t as immediate as they would want, but doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. Prioritize rest, self-care, and emotional well-being over unrealistic body expectations and, in the end, that will lead to a healthier more positive self-image.
