Halle Bailey is seeking sole legal and physical custody of her son, Halo, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., known as DDG.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Bailey has asked the court to deny DDG visitation rights and is instead requesting supervised visits once a week for six hours through a professional agency, but only when Halo is in Los Angeles.

She is also asking that DDG be restricted from taking Halo outside of Los Angeles County.

In the filing, Bailey alleges that DDG has a history of abusive behavior, including threats to take or hide their son, refusing to cooperate with her in co-parenting, and previous physical altercations.

She is seeking a court order to prevent child abduction, requesting that DDG be prohibited from applying for or holding travel documents for Halo without her written consent.

If travel is approved, Bailey wants DDG to provide full details, including round-trip tickets and contact information, and an open airline ticket for her in case Halo is not returned.

Bailey included multiple incidents in her statement, citing one in January where she claims an argument turned physical. She says DDG became angry when she asked to set a visitation schedule and began cursing at her as she placed Halo in his car seat. “Halo was crying. I repeatedly pleaded with him to stop calling me a b—h,” Bailey wrote.

The altercation allegedly escalated when Bailey tried to remain with her son. She claims DDG pulled her hair and slammed her face into a steering wheel, chipping her tooth. She says she remained in the car out of fear and concern for her son’s safety.

Bailey says she has tried to work things out privately but feels she has no other option. “I cannot allow this abuse any longer,” she wrote.

On Tuesday, May 13, Bailey was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG. He must now remain at least 100 yards away from Bailey and Halo at all times, including at Halo’s school and Bailey’s vehicle.

Bailey and DDG began dating in 2022 and ended their relationship in 2024. A court hearing is set for June 4.
