Found aired its season 2 finale on May 15, 2025, but before that, NBC decided whether they were canceling or renewing the show for season 3.

Was ‘Found’ Canceled?

Unfortunately, Found was canceled after two seasons on NBC. The decision was revealed ahead of the season 2 finale in May 2025. Despite the shocking decision, Variety reported that “WBTV plans to shop the show to other outlets.”

After the show’s cancellation on NBC, cast member Gabrielle Walsh expressed optimism in an Instagram post, writing, “Let’s believe Found will find a new platform that says ‘WELCOME HOME.’”

In the comments section of her post, fans were also hopeful that Found would find a new home on another network.

“The show will get picked up by a new network, Found is too good of a show with the cast, writing and production. Y’all are great and the support will always be there and continue,” one person commented in response.

“Love watching Found and the entire cast!! Praying it gets picked up!!!! We need more seasons,” someone else wrote.

“I was so disappointed when I heard that Found was being cancelled. It is a great show with intriguing storylines and an excellent cast! Fingers crossed that the show is picked up by another network or streaming service,” a third person said.

Why Was ‘Found’ Canceled?

Found was not the only series to get the axe by NBC in May 2025. It was also announced that four more shows, Lopez vs. Lopez, Night Court, The Irrational and Suits LA, were all canceled. It appears that the network took upcoming sporting events into account when making their schedule for the 2025-2026 broadcast season, multiple outlets reported.

“We had a lot of shows that we had to pass on in order to put our schedule together,” Jeff Bader, President of Program Planning Strategy for NBCUniversal Entertainment, said during a press conference about all of the recent cancellations. “In the fall, the NBA is a huge priority for us. That is our biggest new show in the fall.”

Fans Are Rallying to Save ‘Found’

When the cancellation of Found was publicly revealed, fans of the show were stunned. They gathered in the comments section of a page on Instagram in an attempt to save the series, which starred Shanola Hampton as Gabrielle “Gabi” Mosely. A petition was also created to urge NBC to undo the cancellation of the show.

“No renewal? It’s a hard no from me. I do not accept,” one person wrote on Instagram. “FOUND is far too important and the stories they tell are those I have never seen told before. They give a voice to those who are so often forgotten and rarely given the time and attention they deserve.”

Another replied, “We NEED to save this show!!! one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES!!!”

“This blows chunks. Get FOX to take the show. Or CBS or something like that,” said another person.

“What? I watched Found from the beginning and got so hooked. The show was well written and the best cast. I’m so heartbroken. Why are great shows being cancelled for what reasons? Because of sports, another reality show or comedy. Please bring it back. It is not finished. I’m heartbroken,” another Instagram user said.
