Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team questioned Cassie Ventura about the timing of the alleged rape incident to challenge the credibility of the accusation.
Ventura, 38, had told prosecutors that Combs raped her in August 2018.
But the R&B singer previously alleged in a lawsuit that Combs did so in September 2018.
The defense attorney, Anna Estevoa, referenced text messages from August 2018 exchanged between the music mogul and Ventura in an effort to weaken the claim.

“Hit me when you can ‘heart emoji,’” Ventura texted Combs.
During the same conversation, Combs texted Ventura: “I know I look bad to you. I could tell I didn’t turn you on yesterday. I fell off.”
A month later, Combs and Ventura texted amid their final breakup — and Estevao pointed out that Cassie didn’t mention the alleged sexual assault.
“You don’t say anything to the effect of the last time we saw each other you raped me?” Estevao asked Ventura.
“Right,” Ventura responded.
“In fact you’re saying you want to keep the peace?” Estevao asked.
“Right,” Ventura said.
