With ex showdowns and family conflicts stirring the pot, it’s hard to believe these 90 Day Fiancé season 11 couples are actually nearing the altar. Drama reached a boiling point in episode 14, as some couples took major steps toward marriage while others struggled to keep it together.

90 Day Fiance’s Sarper Faced Off With Shekinah’s Ex Dan

With Sarper Güven and Shekinah Garner’s wedding just 28 days away, it was crunch time. The Turkey native asked his future wife for feedback on his recent comedy show, to which she replied he “could’ve done without” the part that insulted her friend Dan.

“He can’t just come to L.A. and blow up my friend group because that affects my life here too,” Shekinah told producers of Sarper’s behavior in a confessional.

Sarper told Shekinah to exclude Dan from the friend group, adding, “You cannot be a friend with a guy that you dated.”

Shekinah clapped back that she never slept with Dan, which made “things a lot less complicated,” and brought up how he was there to support Sarper at his comedy show.

The personal trainer didn’t believe Dan had pure intentions and instead said he was “playing the victim.”

“It’s so annoying that Sarper still can’t handle me telling him directly what I need him to do. It’s just a control thing,” Shekinah told producers. “Like he wants to feel in control. And when someone’s telling him what they need him to do, he feels like he’s being controlled.”

Sarper went to Dan’s house to solve their issues the “modern way,” but hinted he would use force if needed. “Shekinah wanted me to solve the situation with them and I want to solve it for my own sake too, because wherever he comes, he caused a problem for me,” he said in a confessional.

Dan was surprised Sarper wanted to speak with him, considering he insulted him at his comedy show but was “open to listen” to what he had to say.

Shekinah’s Ex Dan

Sarper admitted his onstage insults were “revenge” and all he asked from Dan was “respect.”

“Your stand-up comedy, that just showed like, how insecure and jealous person you are. What do you think? You think you’re the only bad boy here? Trust me, I can be a very bad boy,” Dan told him. “Based on what I hear right now, I don’t think your relationship’s going to last.”

Sarper thought Dan was “brave” for his comments and admitted if they were in Turkey instead of the United States, they would’ve handled it by stepping outside and “rolling up their sleeves.”

“I mean he is walking around dangerous territory,” he told the cameras. “But in U.S. standards I cannot give what he deserves. And the only thing that keeping me cool and cold right now thinking Shekinah because if I do anything wrong, I can be deported.”

The conversation ended with Dan and Sarper acknowledging they had both offended each other, agreeing to call it even — for now — while still planning to keep a close eye on one another.

90 Day Fiance’s Mahdi and Stevi Were on Rocky Ground

Mahdi and Stevi kicked off their joint bachelor and bachelorette weekend in New Orleans with a burlesque show — one of the first events Stevi had planned for the celebration.

Mahdi, accompanied by his friend Saeed, didn’t know much about bachelor party traditions outside what he’d seen in movies and hoped they wouldn’t do “any wild things.”

The burlesque show turned out to be very outside of Mahdi’s comfort zone, and he felt out of place almost immediately. “So many things in Iran are banned and taboo, so everything is just making me really uncomfortable,” he said in a confessional. “It’s just so against my upbringing and I don’t know why Stevie would put me in this situation.”

Mid-performance, Mahdi walked out and a producer quickly followed to check in on how he was feeling. “It was just too much, like everything. Everything was just too much,” he replied. “So I had to take a break. I just got here from Iran like a month ago, and all the things that are they’re doing are not normal.”

Meanwhile, Stevi noticed Mahdi walked out and she got nervous when he didn’t return back to his seat. “The longer that it was taking Mahdi to get back, the more I was starting to get worried,” she explained. “Now I have told him multiple times to communicate with me if he felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. So, I don’t really know what’s going on.”

After the show ended, Mahdi did his best to keep a positive face as he didn’t want to be a “party pooper.”

Later, Mahdi spoke with Stevi’s friend Claire and apologized for his blowup during episode 11 when they were touring wedding venues. “I just remembered something about the venue day that I just wanted to apologize because I don’t think I had a really good reaction,” he told her. “But I found out about the like the painting [that] day and we didn’t say bye.”

Saeed was shocked to hear his friend apologizing and felt Mahdi was so “culturally overwhelmed” that he “couldn’t think straight.”

“I have promised her dad something, not imposing whatever mindset that I grew up with back in Iran,” Mahdi told his friend. “So I don’t want to change her as long as it doesn’t affect our relationship.”

90 Day Fiance’s Mark and Mina Signed a Prenup

Aminata “Mina” Mack’s sister Alex arrived on the east coast and one of their first stops was Mina’s wedding dress appointment. Alex approved of Mina’s gown choice and made the moment even more special with a thoughtful gift — a locket containing a photo of their parents.

Alex, Mina and her husband-to-be, Mark Bessette, traveled back to their home in New Hampshire, where Alex immediately pointed out that her sister was “not happy” there.

“It’s just a lot of life changes, you know, adoption and babies and moving and weddings and immigration from another country,” he told his future sister-in-law. “You know, she agreed to come and try this at least for six months. So, I don’t have any plans of going anywhere right now.”

After Alex went to bed, Mark used the opportunity to ask Mina about the prenup and adoption of her son, Clayton.

“You want to go ahead and do that now? I said I would do it as soon as we got back,” he asked her. She sarcastically replied, questioning if he needed to check with his daughter Jordan first and the pair sign the paperwork.

90 Day Fiance’s Amani and Matt Had Questions From Any

Amani Jlassi, Matt Jlassi and Any Aguirre were still face to face with Any’s American ex-boyfriend, Rey. Any was irritated that Rey revealed her real name, “Brenda,” but clarified that her full name is Brenda Anahi — a.k.a. she went by Any to “protect” herself.

“The whole timeline of our relationship like flashed in front of me and I just tried to make sense of things like, oh, I never booked her a flight ticket ever before,” Amani told the cameras. “I never actually looked at her ID. [I] never seen any paperwork that shows her name. Like, why would you lie about your name?”

Any Aguirre

Any defended herself and said she didn’t tell her or Matt because they were “angry all the time” and were frustrated that she had yet to tell her parents.

“I just wanted you to love me and give me as much of the relationship as I’m giving you,” Amani said as Any burst into tears. “Are you crying because you got caught, or are you crying because there is something deeper to this?”

Amani then asked Any if she was still married, and she confirmed she wasn’t — immediately raising red flags for Rey, who had believed otherwise.

“Well, she’s hiding something. I don’t know what that is,” Rey told producers, giving Amani and Matt a cryptic tip. “Before they leap into this life changing decision, they need to find out what they’re getting into.”

90 Day Fiance’s Joan Hurt Greg’s Mother’s Feelings

It was Gregory “Greg” Chillak’s first day on the job and he was nervous as he hadn’t been employed since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m definitely looking forward to my new job. It’s nice to be back out in the workforce and being a productive member of society now,” the chef explained. “But seriously, you know, it is a little, you know, it’s a little nerve racking. Once again, I haven’t had like I haven’t had to answer to a boss for years now.”

Joan Kruchov asked Greg’s mother, Lucille, for a ride to get her wedding dress altered and the matriarch’s feelings were hurt when Joan declined her invitation to join her inside the shop. Lucille went as far as saying the moment made her feel “rejected and worthless.”

“I really don’t want to hurt Lucille’s feelings, but I want to have this moment with my family,” Joan explained. “I want my family to see my wedding dress first ’cause it has been really weird for me to plan this wedding without my family. It’s really sad. So this is really special for my mom and my sisters.”

Joan video chatted with her family from inside the boutique, proudly showing off her wedding dress. The moment brought her to tears as the reality sank in — she’d be getting married without them by her side.

90 Day Fiance’s Shawn and Alliya Were Unsure About Her Future Surgeries

While Shawn Finch was at work, Alliya de Batista video chatted with her mom to discuss her result consultation where she spoke with a doctor about a possible gender reassignment surgery.

“My mom supports the decisions I want to do about surgery, but she do really think that I need to share that and include Sean in all of my choices,” the Brazil native explained. “I think her worry is it’s about me being alone or he leaves me because of my transition.”

Meanwhile, at the salon, Shawn was working on his friend Stacy’s hair and she asked about how Alliya was adapting to living in Los Angeles. “She’s dealing with her transitioning,” he replied, “So, I don’t think she’s like, as comfortable being intimate with me because she’s not feeling sexy, beautiful, whatever.”

When asked if he believed their marriage could survive Alliya’s gender reassignment surgery, Shawn replied, “There’s no way of knowing. That’s like me guessing what’s going to happen, when is it going to happen? How many years is going to happen? What are the options? How’s that going to feel?”

Shawn admitted that he would consider “pulling” their 90-day visa and reapplying if they needed more space to figure out the situation.

During an outing at the beach, the Los Angeles native later asked Alliya what the “possibility” of her undergoing gender reassignment surgery was.

“It’s something that I’m not thinking about. But I cannot tell you that you think like that. Like forever,” she honestly responded, adding she didn’t have answers for the future.

“Getting married in two weeks and you know, I want to be 100 percent honest and I can’t guarantee you that our marriage would survive if you had gender reassignment surgery,” he replied.
