In honor of Hailey Bieber’s recent Vogue cover, Justin Bieber aired out some of the couple’s dirty laundry on Instagram. In an Instagram post celebrating the cover, Justin wrote about a previous disagreement in which he told her she’d never be on the cover of the magazine. After significant backlash, Justin quietly changed the caption. This did little to quell the public reaction, though.

Hailey appeared on the cover of Vogue’s summer 2025 edition. Justin shared a photo of the cover on his Instagram and noted that it reminded him of a fight the couple had.

“Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,” he wrote in the caption. “I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue.”

“Yikes I know, so mean,” he continued. “For some reason because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even..”

He concluded by noting that Hailey had forgiven him but expressed regret for doubting her.

“I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even, we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection,” he wrote. “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a vogue cover cuz clearly i was sadly mistaken.”

Unsurprisingly, the post did not go over well in the comments.

“Sometimes you should keep your thoughts for yourself, man,” wrote one person. “You said you don’t wanna be selfish but that’s what you do all time without thinking about the consequences. Poor Hailey having you as husband. Thank god I’m not belieber anymore.”

Even people who still count themselves among his fans didn’t defend the caption.

“I know your intentions in posting this were good, but the caption was disrespectful and nasty,” wrote one person. “This is a very happy moment for Hailey, let’s not take that away from her!”

Four hours after posting, Justin changed the caption to a shrugging emoji, a pointing finger, hands making a heart, and a teary smiley face. It seems the damage was already done, though.

“Even if you changed it, everyone already knows,” one person wrote. “If that is what you chose to post publicly, we already know what a misogynistic, cruel excuse for a man you are behind closed doors.”

Still, he had some supporters in the comments.

She slammed people who doubted their relationship

The Biebers have faced rumors of marital strife for years. Hailey addressed this in the Vogue interview.

“Well, I thought seven years in it would’ve already, and it hasn’t. You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no,” she said. “So I guess these b****es are going to be mad.”

She told the outlet she has learned to ignore the rumors about her marriage with help from her husband.

“I’ve learned so much from Justin, really. He’s been doing this literally since he was a child and he has had to face the most scrutiny of any person that I know. He was like, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before many, many times. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.’”
