HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. () — Hilton Head Prep announced their new head coaches for varsity girls and boys basketball Wednesday.
Johnny Campell will take over as the girls coach. He has been part of the Hilton Head Prep basketball program for the past three seasons and brings experience from AAU, the University of Dayton Baseball Staff and Miami Valley School.
“I am honored to accept the Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach position at Hilton Head Prep. I am planning to build upon the existing positive culture with a commitment to individual player development, toughness, grit, and embracing the Prep values,” Campell said. “I will bring the perspective of a parent who watched his children flourish in the Prep community, and as a coach who has been on staff in the basketball program the past three seasons.”
Michael Strickland was announced as the new boys coach. He has over a decade of coaching under his belt, the school say.
“I’m incredibly honored to take on the role of head boys basketball coach at Hilton Head Prep,” said Strickland. “This program has a strong tradition, and I’m excited to build on that foundation. I look forward to mentoring these young men on and off the court as we strive for excellence together. I’m thankful for the opportunity and excited to be representing the Dolphin community with pride.”
