ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – “This is not your grandma’s bingo, so come prepared to have a great time,” said Lashonda Royal, President of Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

Bingo for Handbags is one of EEZ’s signature fundraising events, with most of the proceeds going towards scholarships for Central Florida students through the ZETA Foundation, Inc. EEZ is a graduate chapter of the sorority supporting communities in Orlando, East Orange County and Osceola County through service and community initiatives.

Bingo for Handbags takes place Saturday, May 24th, 2025 at Hilton Altamonte Springs located at 350 Northlake Boulevard. Doors open at Noon and the first round of bingo begins at 1 p.m. There are 15 rounds of bingo as part of the event. Some of the prizes include designer handbags from Gucci, Coach, Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore and more.

Royal came up with the idea starting the event in 2012 and it became an annual tradition.

“The idea behind Bingo for Handbags was to bring something new and different to the Orlando communities in terms of a fundraiser. I enjoy bingo and I enjoy handbags, so it was a perfect marriage,” said Royal. “This year, proceeds will benefit our scholarships and other service initiatives we participate in throughout the year.”

The theme this year is Greek Gods & Goddesses Edition and visitors are encouraged to dress up. There will be a dessert bar and opportunity to purchase drinks. DJ Millennium from Star 94.5 in Orlando and 106.5 in Jacksonville will be part of the event. There will also be local vendors on hand.

“My favorite part is when I hear ‘BINGO!’ To see the excitement on their face when they pop up and wave their card is exciting. This event has truly become a tradition for many of our supporters so it’s nice to see familiar faces and some new attendees every year. It’s all about having a good time for a great cause,” said Royal.
