NILES, Ohio (WKBN) Ohio 15-year-old Chase Miller is battling a brain tumor, but he says he’s looking forward to summer, thanks to Make-A-Wish. The foundation has organized a trip to sunny San Diego in June.

“I’m looking forward to the water mainly because it’s like a nice, clear water. So I’m ready to swim in it,” Chase told affiliate WKBN.

It’s been a tough fight for the sophomore. Previous surgery couldn’t remove all of the cancer in his brain. Chase is currently receiving immunotherapy treatments and he’ll soon have another MRI.

Right now, doctors are just trying to slow the tumor.

But he’s received lots of love from his community during this difficult time. A spaghetti dinner fundraiser in December raised enough to send his best friend 8-year-old sister Harlan with him to the California coast. The siblings plan to visit the world-famous San Diego Zoo, in addition to SeaWorld San Diego.

Chase’s trip to San Diego will be only three days after his next MRI.

Support from his family and friends helps him stay positive. His mom Bobbi Jo Boyd says that if you ask Chase how he’s feeling, he’ll say, “I feel good. I feel great.”

She added: “It doesn’t really affect him in any way, which is great.”
