Law&Crime, premier legal and true crime media company, is thrilled to announce the hire of award-winning tech and media veteran Debasish Mishra as its newest Chief Technology Officer.

As CTO, Mishra will spearhead the expansion and transformation of Law&Crime’s infrastructure across all production, digital and social media divisions of the company, particularly to expand its storytelling influence across the true crime space.

Debasish Mishra, who formerly held executive roles at The WNET Group and NBC Universal, brings with him an industry-recognized level of strategic thinking around tech transformation from the frontlines of media and journalism. In 2021, Mishra was recognized as a finalist for the Orbie Award for NY CIO of the Year. Since then, Mishra has also branched out to found an independent consulting firm, Scagility, focused on leveraging new advancements in AI services, data and analytics to bolster the digital success of newsrooms worldwide.

Mishra’s appointment signals a larger and continuous investment across Law&Crime’s social media platforms and digital channels in utilizing cutting-edge advancements to amplify its journalistic voice and expertise. As Law&Crime continues to grow its YouTube production unit to serve over eight million subscribers across five channels, Mishra will play a critical role in launching and delivering exciting new initiatives designed to engage Law&Crime’s ever-growing audience.

“Debasish brings a visionary approach to media technology that will help position Law&Crime at the forefront of digital innovation,” said Rachel Stockman, President of Law&Crime. “His leadership will be instrumental as we explore new tools—like AI and next-gen streaming workflows—to continue delivering compelling, accessible, and impactful journalism and premium content.”

Notably, Mishra’s first week with Law&Crime coincided with the company’s successful release of AI-generated recreations of the federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. With cameras prohibited in all federal courts, Law&Crime’s innovative visual representations of the trial proceedings based on actual court transcripts from the testimony of key witnesses and investigators offer the most comprehensive media coverage of the high-profile case to date.
