Throughout Survivor history, there have been hundreds of people who’ve gotten to compete on Jeff Probst’s beloved reality show. Even new fans who are still figuring out which seasons to watch first will quickly learn that many of those people left their mark on the show. Between being medically evacuated, competing in one of the best seasons, becoming a legendary player, or being one of the best winners, Survivor players can be memorable for many reasons.
Unfortunately, many Survivor players have also spoken about the show leaving its mark on them, which is why some have refused to return. However, while speaking exclusively to TheThings, Libby Vincek Petrucci revealed she would play Survivor again even though watching herself on TV is tough.
Why Libby Vincek Petrucci Would Be Interested In Playing Survivor Again
In April 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Survivor’s Libby Vincek Petrucci about her experience on the show. During that exclusive conversation, Libby was asked about playing again and explained that she wanted to return and last longer than she did the first time while having fun.
“I think that the competitiveness, you just wanna go back and not only win, but you wanna beat yourself from last time. I feel like I’m a different type of person than I was when I was 23. I’ve lived a lot of life. I’m a mom now. You know? I have a different outlook on stuff. But, also the show is fun. Like, you put yourself through a really tough challenging experience, but the challenge is being out there in Fiji. The whole production part of it is really fun too. I think back, and it was terrifying and scary. You didn’t know what you were doing the next day, but at the same time, it is a really fun challenging experience.”
From there, Libby explained that she would be excited to get the chance to play differently. “There are so many ways to play. So the more opportunities you get to play, the more opportunities you get to play differently and see what works and try this person’s tactics. You learn every time you watch the show.”
After explaining why she would want to return, Libby went on to exclusively tell TheThings that she still wasn’t sure she would play again if she could.
I still don’t know if I would do it or not.
After Libby made that comment, she went on to say something else that seemed very telling.
While still discussing the prospect of competing on Survivor again, she revealed that she’d discussed that topic privately with her husband. As her exclusive TheThings interview continued, Libby revealed that, based on knowing her so well, her husband believes she would jump at the chance to play again.
“It would be pretty rad. I talk to my husband all the time. Like, ‘Would I do it?’ He’s like, ‘Yes. You would do it. Like, you have to go and try and play again.'”
Between her own comments about why she would want to play again and her husband’s perspective, it certainly seems clear that Libby would compete on Survivor again.
Why Libby Vincek Petrucci Struggled Watching Herself On Survivor
While talking to TheThings in April 2025, Libby Vincek Petrucci was asked about what it was like watching herself on Survivor. In response, Libby exclusively explained she sometimes took pride while watching herself play Survivor. “You know, there are moments of pride.” However, Libby also explained what was so hard about watching herself on the show.
“What’s really hard is when you watch it back and you see what you could have done or things that you think, oh, this would have worked out way better, or people not seeing or respecting a move, they actually think that that was a terrible move. So, like, you have to almost watch it with a, ‘It is what it is, and I did what I did.'”
From there, Libby spoke about how Survivor players have to work to emotionally accept how they played the game.
However, Libby exclusively told TheThings that she has barely watched herself on Survivor because it is so emotionally difficult for her.
Watching it back is actually really hard. I only have really watched it back once or twice.
While talking about what she took away from playing Survivor, Libby again touched on why rewatching herself on the show is so difficult for her. That said, Libby also expressed appreciation that she got to compete on Survivor. “I know my experience. I’ve journaled about it and I appreciate my game. I appreciate where I was in that stage of my life. I’m totally different now. So watching it back, it’s almost so hard because I’m like, wait. I made all these decisions. Like, what did I do? It wasn’t easy, but it’s something that I look back on knowing that it’s one of the best experiences of my life, and it’s part of the decisions that I made. So I just have to appreciate it, but it’s hard to watch back for sure.”
