Freddie Mercury’s secret lovechild had kept 17 volumes of diaries detailing her relationship with her famous dad – and now she’s made them public. The woman, who was reportedly conceived accidentally after Freddie enjoyed a fling with a friend’s wife back in 1976, shared everything with rock biographer Lesley-Ann Jones for her book, Love, Freddie.

Now, ahead of the book’s publication in September, Express can reveal the contents of a secret handwritten letter, where she gushed that she’d been treated like his most “treasured possession”. The woman wrote: “Freddie Mercury was and is my father. We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life. He adored me and was devoted to me.” 

The letter, published in the Daily Mail, continues: “The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people’s standards, unusual and even outrageous. That should come as no surprise.

“It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession.”

Lesley-Ann, who has also written biographies of other rockers including John Lennon, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones, insisted she believes the daughter’s story completely, as she has not asked for money or “recognition”.

“I am absolutely sure she is not a fantasist, Why would she have worked with me for three-and-a half years, never demanding anything?” she quizzed, as per The Mail.

“In my experience of fantasists, and I’ve met a few, they seek instant gratification, publicity and reward. She has never asked for money. She does not want recognition.

“Both Freddie and her stepfather left her extremely wealthy. She was not provided for through Freddie’s will, but by a private, legal arrangement, so no one will find her mentioned there.”

Freddie was a rock icon and the lead singer of Queen, before dying in 1991 after AIDS complications caused a fatal bout of pneumonia. 

The singer’s sexuality was complex, with him having what he described as a “normal” sexual relationship with female partner Mary for seven years, before going on to adopt a gay lifestyle and openly have affairs with men.
