Flight attendants wrote Meghan Markle a sweet note on a recent commercial flight and were surprised to receive a handwritten response.
NEW YORK — A flight attendant who served Meghan Markle on a recent flight left with a handwritten keepsake from the Duchess of Sussex.
Nina Vida, an American Airlines flight attendant based in New York, shared a video on TikTok describing how she and her fellow crew members received a handwritten note on a cocktail napkin from Meghan Markle on a recent flight.
“You guys will not believe who I just had on my flight,” Vida said in the TikTok, filmed while wearing her airline uniform. “The Meghan Markle was on my flight and she is so beautiful in person, she was so sweet.”
Vida said she and her colleagues first wrote a note to Markle saying, “It’s a pleasure serving you, we love you real bad,” signed from the “AA girlies.” Markle responded with her own handwritten message on a napkin.
“Dear AA girlies, thank you for the love, hospitality and handwritten note — you know me well,” Markle wrote. “All love right back to you. As ever, Meghan,” though Vida said she thought it was signed “Forever, Meghan,” and admitted she could “barely read the cursive.”
Vida praised Markle’s handwriting in the video, saying it was “giving rich, giving expensive, giving princess.”
The flight attendant also revealed that Markle complimented her nails during their interaction, despite a flight captain previously calling them “intense.”
“Sir, it doesn’t matter what you think, the queen said she likes them,” Vida joked.
Vida, who documents her experiences as a flight attendant on TikTok, has previously claimed to serve other celebrities including Ariana Grande.
The Duchess of Sussex has been known to send personalized handwritten notes. In March, she sent a message to podcast host Amanda Hirsch after Hirsch expressed concerns that viewers would not like Markle’s Netflix show “With Love, Meghan.” That note read: “Don’t be scared. Let’s enjoy it.”
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex often travel via private jet, they have occasionally used commercial flights. Prince Harry flew American Airlines to King Charles III’s coronation in 2023.
The timing of Markle’s recent American Airlines flight is unclear, though she has made several trips to New York recently, including for the Time100 summit and Broadway shows.
Markle has been increasingly active on social media since relaunching her Instagram account in January, sharing more photos of her children and personal life with Prince Harry as she launched her lifestyle brand “As Ever” and her Netflix series.
