In November, a teenage girl was hit and killed on the same road. In April, a high schooler sustained serious injuries on a scooter.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Friday, a motorcyclist was hit and killed on a street that has been the site of many fatal crashes in recent years.

The motorcyclist was traveling east on Argyle Forest Boulevard and was hit by a man in his 70’s who was driving westbound, according to JSO. Police say the driver “drove into the path” of the motorcyclist.

The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the car in the crash, JSO said. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital and he was pronounced dead there.

A dangerous street

In April, an Oakleaf High School student was hit and injured while on a scooter at the intersection of Argyle Forest and old Middleburg Road. And several other crashes on the road have ended in fatalities.

This is the same road where 17-year-old Lauren Lewis was hit and killed in November 2024 while on a motorcycle. In February 2024, another motorcyclist was killed on Argyle Forest. He was identified as a man in his 30’s.

In 2022, three people died three months apart at the intersection of Argyle Forest and Loch Highlands Boulevard. One of those crashes caused the death of a pedestrian, and four other people were also injured.

First Coast News also reported on fatal crashes on Argyle Forest in 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2017 — in 2017, an 8-year-old was killed in a crash there.
