Glynn County shots fired arrest

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () — A shooting in Glynn County Friday night left one woman with a gunshot wound.

The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) responded to the scene near Mulligans and the Royal Inn Hotel in Brunswick and found the woman with a wound to her lower abdomen. The woman was transported to the hospital in Brunswick, then airlifted to another hospital in Jacksonville. She is listed in stable condition.

GCPD detectives identified the suspect as 32-year-old Brandon Betts. Detectives say Betts fired multiple shots from a shotgun in the direction of the victim, her two children, ages 7 and 9, and an additional male.

Betts was arrested and charged Friday with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit a crime. Additional charges may be added pending further investigation.
