Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has died at the age of 79 just five months after his family revealed he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Several of Phil’s family members took to social media on Sunday, May 25, to pay tribute to the late reality star. “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!” Phil’s son Jase Robertson wrote via X.

Meanwhile, his granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff shared several photos of Phil and their family throughout the years via Instagram. “’Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.’ – 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬. As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse… he has already experienced this on earth—going from dead to alive by the power of Christ!” she captioned the photos. “It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come. One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!”

The tributes continued with Phil’s son Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson, issuing a tribute in a joint post. “We celebrate today that our father, husband and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” they wrote in a text post via X. “Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life.”

“We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. We’re having a private service for now, but we’ll share details soon about a public celebration of his life,” the tribute continued.

Jase, 55, first revealed his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis during the December 6, 2024, episode of the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast. After he explained that Phil was in the “early stages” of the illness, he said that his father’s Alzheimer’s “accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body.”

“He’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling,” Jase added at the time.

Jase shared another update about Phil’s health during the April 2 episode of the podcast. He said that Phil was “not good,” adding, “We’re making him comfortable, and we’re doing the best we can. I think that’s just what you do.”

Fans got to know Phil and his family on Duck Dynasty, which aired on A&E from 2012 until 2017. The series had several spinoffs, including Going Si-Ral, Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, At Home with the Robertsons and Duck Family Treasure. Meanwhile, the network announced in January that the show was returning for new episodes under the name Duck Dynasty: The Revival.

The new iteration of the show will follow Willie, 53, and Korie, 51, as they “grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy,” according to the official press release.

Duck Dynasty: The Revival is expected to premiere in the summer and will also feature fan-favorite family members including Miss Kay, Uncle Si and more.
