(NEXSTAR) — Toyota is recalling over 400,000 models of its Toyota Tundra and Toyota Tundra Hybrid vehicles over concerns that their reverse lights could fail, limiting visibility.

Per the recall notice via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least 443,444 vehicles with model years 2022-25 are potentially affected by the issue. The NHTSA says moisture may be able to enter the reverse lights on the affected vehicles, causing light failure.

The issue may potentially fail to adequately warn pedestrians behind the vehicle that a driver is backing up, NHTSA explains.

Recalled vehicles:

  • 2022-25 Toyota Tundra
  • 2022-25 Toyota Tundra Hybrid

Toyota says it expects to send out Toyota Tundra recall notifications of the recall to known owners beginning June 30, however, owners are advised to either contact Toyota customer service or else, visit a Toyota dealership. The NHTSA says dealers will replace both reverse light assemblies and perform other repairs for free.

Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 24TB06 and 24TA06.

To contact Toyota or for more information, visit the Toyota Safety Recalls webpage or call Toyota from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Mondays-Fridays or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Saturdays at (800) 331-4331.
