RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — The Central Maroons will look to find redemption in Saturday’s regional final in Rantoul against Mahomet-Seymour, starting at noon.

The Maroons lost in the regional final last season.

Central enters this game 24-3 on the season and the top seed in the Rantoul regional.

Standout sophomores on this team like Grace Bandy and Hailey Helm have their sights set on earning this senior class some postseason hardware.

“I’m super excited,” Bandy said. “I think we have the opportunity to go really far, especially with these girls, and I’m super proud of how far we come, and so I really hope we keep pushing and go farther in this season.”

“Just watching them get that plaque [last season] that kind of really hurt us and that made us really hungry for that regional championship, and we’re just trying to get that, and that’s just our big goal,” Helm said.
