Hell hath no fury like a Swiftie scorned. On this morning’s episode of The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin — the show’s resident Taylor Swift fan — fired back at conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro for describing the pop star as “middle-aged” and “elderly.”

In a recent episode of The Ben Shapiro Show, the controversial commentator slammed artists like Swift and Jennifer Lopez, who recently made out with her background dancers during her American Music Awards performance, for acting younger than they are to maintain relevancy. Shapiro accused the women, whom he described as “middle-aged,” of “masquerading as 17-year-olds.”

Meanwhile, Joy Behar and Griffin were quick to remind audiences that Lopez is only 55, while Swift is 35.

“I mean, elderly, 55? Really? That is the dumbest statement I’ve heard all year,” Behar snarked.

Griffin, who is the same age as Swift, then joked, “I’m leaving here to actually go picket wherever Ben Shapiro hosts his show because he called Taylor Swift middle-aged and elderly. She’s 35. We were born in 1989. Ben Shapiro’s 41 years old.”

The conversation on The View occurred minutes before Swift announced that she was finally able to purchase the rights to her first six albums, which had been sold off when music manager Scooter Braun purchased the record label she was signed to, Big Machine Records.

“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: all of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs … to me,” Swift wrote in a letter to her fans this morning, noting that she also owns all of her music videos, album art, and unreleased songs.

With that being said, Ben Shapiro’s snarky comments are probably the last thing Swift is thinking about right now.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
