ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — Appalachian Outpost in Elizabethton will host a grand opening event on Saturday for what it describes as the world’s largest selection of fly fishing flies.

On top of the large selection, fishermen will also enjoy a trout tournament and plenty of food off the Watauga River at 1432 Broad Street in Elizabethton.

Appalachian Outpost said the fly bar has been in the works for a while.

“It’s just something so, so exciting to bring to this area where fly fishing is so vital to our rivers and our tourism and everybody’s happiness, that we can offer this and have people the selection they want, whenever they want it,” Alex Hennage, Appalachian Outpost owner, said.

Rock Star Fishing partnered with Appalachian Outpost to make the fly bar happen.
