A deputy saw a motorcyclist at a Wawa in Delonta who had fled from an attempted traffic stop earlier in the evening. While the motorcyclist was being detained, they called out to Muzzy who was with the group of riders and argued with the deputy conducting the traffic stop.
The motorcyclist was arrested on a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail on a bond of $2,500, deputies said.
“After that rider’s arrest, Muzzy left the Wawa riding her motorcycle with a fictitious tag rather than having it towed or getting a ride home,” the sheriff’s office said on social media.
Muzzy was arrested and faces a charges of possession of a counterfeit license plate and taken to jail with a $2,500 bond.
Since Muzzy’s arrest, the sheriff’s office said it became aware of a social media account she associated with her displaying reckless stunt riding on public roads.
The sheriff’s office is also investigating Muzzy’s conduct as part of an internal affairs investigation.
Muzzy had been a deputy since 2021.
