JONESVILLE, Va. (WJHL) — A Pennington Gap man will spend the next 16 years of his life in prison for charges related to methamphetamine possession.

A news release from Lee County Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin said that Marshall Dale Jones was sentenced on Monday.

The release said Pennington Gap officers conducted a traffic stop on Jones on Nov. 1, 2023, which led to a search of his vehicle. Jones was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute after he was found to have more than 100 grams of meth in his car.

“The search uncovered more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, packed for distribution, along with over $2,800 in cash,” the release states.

Jones was sentenced to serve 16 years in prison, with four years of probation to follow his release.

“We are grateful for the dedication of all officers and prosecutors who worked tirelessly to bring this defendant to justice,” Cridlin said in the release. “This sentence reflects the harm that methamphetamine trafficking causes in our community.”
