Washington police officers swooped in on a remote forest campsite in hopes of finding three missing girls who disappeared with their father after visitation.

Multiple police agencies blocked off parts of Rock Island Campground near Leavenworth on Monday night.

Officers blocked off a local road and directed drivers to turn around, NCW Life News reported.

A SWAT team was called around 5pm and the area was shutdown between 7pm and 9pm, the outlet reported.

Although police did not confirm the blockade was connected to Travis Decker – who is accused of not returning his three daughters, Paityn, nine, Evelyn, eight, and Olivia, five, on Friday – they told NCW Life News it was due to an ‘ongoing investigation.’

Decker was charged with first-degree custodial interference after he allegedly failed to return his children to their mother, Whitney Decker, after a scheduled three-hour visitation.

The Washington State Patrol canceled the missing persons alert for the three girls, but the agency did not reveal why. DailyMail.com has reached out to Washington State Patrol for comment.

Authorities gained interest in Rock Island Campground after a truck was spotted near a roundabout close to Leavenworth.

Decker, 32, a veteran, does not have permanent housing and is known for staying at hotels and campgrounds, NCW Life News reported.

His ex-wife said Decker has ‘really struggled since he left the military and his mental health can be hard sometimes,’ she told KIRO 7

‘I think this is an effect of that, and I don’t personally think that he’s dangerous. I think that he is impulsive and he loves his children very much,’ she said.

The girls were last seen around 5pm on Friday when they left their home with Decker.

Wenatchee Police said that while the visitation was part of a parenting plan, Decker has since violated its terms – something they described as ‘not normal and cause for the alarm.’

He was last seen driving a 2017 white GMC Sierra pickup with Washington license plate D20165C.

Paityn is described as 4’8″ and 80 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue shirt, purple shorts, and pink Nike sneakers.
