Todd and Julie Chrisley, stars of the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best, have been granted full pardons by President Donald Trump, leading to their release from federal prison. The couple had been serving sentences for convictions related to bank fraud and tax evasion, offenses for which they were sentenced to a combined 19 years in 2023. Their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, confirmed the pardon and their subsequent release, sharing details of their reunion and plans for the future. Now, Mama June Shannon has a warning for the Chrisleys. Here’s what she said.

Mama June Shannon warned Todd and Julie Chrisley after their pardon and release from federal prison

Todd and Julie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best fame were incarcerated in 2022 following bank and tax fraud. Todd originally had a release date of 2032, and Julie had a release date of 2028. They’re far from the first reality TV couple to fall into legal troubles. And Mama June Shannon of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame has a warning for them.

While speaking to People, Shannon said she hoped the couple “learned something” from their experience.

“I’ve told many people that the Chrisleys, they can be good people, and they’re funny people, and I love them all. And I love grandma [Faye],” Shannon said. “But now that they are getting totally pardoned, just like myself, I didn’t go to jail. I just had to be good for a year.”

“This slap on the wrist may not be a slap on the wrist next time,” she continued.

Shannon managed to steer clear of a prison sentence following her highly publicized 2019 arrest. The former TLC star was taken into custody alongside then-boyfriend Geno Doak in Alabama after authorities reportedly discovered crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia during a domestic disturbance. The incident sparked major concern among fans and family, leading to daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson being placed in the custody of her older sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird.

In 2021, June entered a pre-trial diversion program that included 100 hours of community service, regular drug testing, and court supervision — conditions that allowed her to avoid jail time entirely.

Mama June Shannon previously said she spent $3,000 per day on her drug habit

Mama June Shannon kicked her drug habit and has been “straight sober” since 2020. However, before her sobriety, she said she spent around $3,000 per day on cocaine and crack cocaine.

A clip from Mama June: From Not to Hot — Family Crisis shows Shannon explaining to the rehab center how she used drugs “daily.” During her heaviest periods of use, she would use a “couple ounces” of drugs per day.

“What’s so bad is you’re doing it throughout the day and staying up, you know what I’m saying?” Shannon explained to the intake counselor. “I could go through a couple ounces a day, easy. Like, not even think about it.”

Shannon said that she didn’t need help at the time. Thankfully, she got assistance with her drug habit and is now sober. As she later told TMZ, “I have been straight sober since Jan 27, 2020,” adding, “I don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke cigarettes, and I don’t even drink.”

Savannah Chrisley gave an update on how her parents are acclimating to life outside of prison

Savannah Chrisley, 27, spoke on her Unlocked podcast about how her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, are acclimating to the world outside of prison. The daughter admitted that it’s going to “take a little while” for her parents to adjust. And first, she made them dinner.

“I cooked dinner for my entire family,” she said. “I made steaks, pasta, salad, potato. Like, we had a smorgasbord of things. My parents enjoyed it and loved it.”

She also took her dad out shopping. “My dad and I also went to Nordstrom because he had to have something to wear to the press conference today, as well as something to wear to an event tomorrow,” Savannah said. “We thought we were in the clear, but nope. The press followed us into Nordstrom and were chasing us around in Nordstrom. … So, we really had fun with that whole journey. Dad has not lost his sense of humor. He is still as spunky as ever.”
