The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp continues to open up about her battle with stage 4 cancer. Thankfully, she recently had positive news: The tumors on her brain and lungs have shrunk significantly. And while speaking on her Two Ts In a Pod podcast, co-hosted by Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge, Mellencamp revealed that she had started seeing a new man.

“I’m dating somebody,” the Beverly Hills star revealed. “He’s very kind to me; he’s taking good care of me. He’s nice … he’s not married, he doesn’t have any kids. But he’s also a private person.”

When Mellencamp met her new man, she noted that he didn’t know about her fame. The reality star didn’t want to say the name of her love interest to maintain his want for privacy.

“I asked him, like, ‘Do I even say your name?’ and he’s, like, it’s really whatever you want to do, like, ‘I know you’re a public person,’” she continued on the podcast.

Teddi Mellencamp and her ex-husband, Edwin Arroyave, spoke to their kids about Mellencamp’s cancer

Teddi Mellencamp cited “irreconcilable differences” when filing for divorce from Edwin Arroyave. But Arroyave, the CEO and founder of Skyline Security Management, has remained a steadfast presence in Teddi Mellencamp’s life following their 2024 separation. Despite this, the couple has maintained a cooperative co-parenting arrangement for their three children — Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5 — while also navigating their individual journeys.

Arroyave has been notably supportive during Mellencamp’s ongoing battle with stage 4 melanoma, accompanying her to medical appointments and assisting with her care. While speaking on his podcast, The Eds, Arroyave explained how he and Mellencamp approached the topic with their kids.

“I called it the way it was,” he said. “It’s like, ‘Hey, there’s some tumors that your mom has in her brain. It sounds worse than what it is, but this is what we think is going to happen. This is how we’re going to deal with it, and this is why I’m confident that she’s going to make it through.’”

The exes still live together and hit pause on their divorce

While Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave have no plans to get back together, they’re reportedly still living under the same roof while Mellencamp undergoes cancer treatments.

“We’re not a couple, but we are still very close friends,” the Real Housewives star said, according to USA Today, “and I think it was an effortless decision for him to make sure that he was there for me and the kids when this happened.”

Mellencamp noted that while everyone around her wants “everything to be so black and white,” her relationship with Arroyave is anything but. While the couple will eventually officially divorce, they hit pause to focus on Mellencamp’s health.

“It’s like, OK, we’re all going to be there for this,” she continued. “Yes, we were nesting. Now this is how it’s going to work. This night is going to be your night. This is going to be mine.”
