Jax Taylor spoke about the success of his shared podcast with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, after Tuesday’s episode of The Valley, which saw the ex-couple at odds over Jax potentially bugging their home and her missing wedding ring.

As Jax, 45, suggested that he awarded Brittany with their show, When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany, amid their split, Brittany, 36, refuted the claim as she alleged that he was holding the rights over her head as she paid off his tax debt as part of their mortgage.

“We have a very successful podcast. We make about a million dollars a year off my podcast alone,” Jax declared on the June 3 episode of The Valley: After Show.

Following their early 2024 breakup, Jax claimed to have split up the podcast, taking his half of that money, $500,000, and handing the remaining RSS feed over to Brittany so he wouldn’t have to “hear about the house payment anymore.”

“I signed the paperwork for it … I handed it over to her because it’s worth a lot of money. So handing her that feed, clean slate now, we’re even,” he declared.

But according to Brittany, he “never did” that. In fact, she said the two of them continued to share the podcast until its contract expired. And ever since, Jax has been dragging his feet on handing over the feed.

“He’s taking the longest time ever to sign over the [feed] because it’s worth a lot of money, and he is just holding over my head every little thing I do. ‘Oh, if you don’t let me see Cruz, if you don’t let me spend time with you on Easter, I’m not gonna sign the [feed] over.’ Literally holds it over my head,” she alleged.

Because she put in “much more work” on the podcast and was the one who developed the concept, Brittany felt she “[deserved]” the rights to the show.

“[I] basically just interviewed him. He never wrote questions. He didn’t do anything … and after all the extra money I have to pay [for the mortgage because of Jax’s tax balance being tacked on], I don’t know why he’s trying to fight me on it,” she explained. “It’s just ridiculous … He’s trying to argue that ‘You’ll get all the money whenever you sell the house.’ And I’m like, ‘Cool, well I don’t want to sell the house.’”

Brittany pays $10,000 extra a month for Jax’s taxes, which will add up over the years, cutting out much of the profit she could be due.

“I put [$250,000] down on the house. What am I gonna make back after all this time?” she wondered. “It’s not really fair. I’ll only make whatever is left over after his taxes. So I’m screwed either way, and he doesn’t realize that.”

Instead, Jax expressed that he was doing a good deed for Brittany and their four-year-old son, Cruz, in awarding her with sole ownership of their marital home and podcast.

“The house is going to her. I gave it to her fully. It’s going into her name. The mortgage has been paid off. I paid it off when I was in rehab. I wrote them a check,” he revealed. “The goal here is to hand her over the house. My son loves that house. He loves the pool. He loves the backyard, and Brittany loves the house too. I’m not an awful person. I don’t want to disrupt Brittany and Cruz’s life.”

“I’ll work hard and start over from scratch. Not a big deal,” he concluded.
