PINELLAS COUNTY, Fl. () – Pinellas County Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested a Clearwater, Florida man for Sexual Battery.

Law enforcement began their investigation on August 23rd, 2024, after a male reported a sexual battery that occurred when he was 8-years-old.

Detectives learned the suspect, 62-year-old Bobby McAffee, pinned the victim down on the ground, held both of his arms above his head, and sexually battered him.

On May 30th, 2025, detectives interviewed McAffee, who admitted to having sexual contact with the victim.

The suspect also admitted to testing positive for HIV, and the victim recently found out he is also now HIV positive.

McAffee was charged with one count of Sexual Battery of a Child Less Than 12 Years Old and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

The investigation continues.
